So, what has changed since then and created a winter that's one of the warmest we've seen in history? As you can see, there will be TONS of sunshine this week...yes there will probably be a few clouds once in a while, but nothing to worry about. Then, there is still a good chance to get some showers through the middle of the week... DRIER AIR ARRIVES... That means some pretty nice weather, overall, for the next 3 days! Most of Sunday and Monday will be dry and mild, though.

We're now forecasting at least 6 straight days of sunshine, before we have some slight chances for a shower or storm late next week. All the computer models though right now are going below normal early in February, so that's the way I'm leaning there. Each of those could give some areas a thunderstorm. The rest of Saturday doesn't look too bad, then rain showers become likely again by early Sunday. Near normal for March, although I think it will start cold and end warm. Clouds will continue to dominate most of tonight and Thursday, keeping us cool, but not cold. What I've done from here is look back at the 25 warmest winters up until now, and I found five of them that did have that warmer-than-normal water in the northeast Pacific. After that, we have a prolonged period of more comfortable air coming our way...that will include the weekend and most of next week. Southeastern areas had the sun break through the clouds for a while, as our temperatures ranged from the middle 60s along Lake Michigan to the lower 80s from Rochester to Goshen. We'll be keeping an eye on that...and Hurricane Sally in the Gulf of Mexico.

A few spots could still see a lingering shower early Wednesday, but then we're dry through Saturday and probably Sunday. The heat will back off slightly the rest of the week with a pop-up shower or storm possible each day. A couple February temperatures were slightly above normal. SHOT OF CHILLY AIR...
