I’d still watch reruns of Stagecoach, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, The Searchers and Rio Bravo and The Alamo and a host of Duke’s earlier work whenever they turned up on tv but that was because I felt those films weren’t, for want of a better word, tainted by the outmoded political views that came to define John Wayne towards the end of his life.
